Horizon 2020 EIC Accelerator Pilot EnviroLAS
In 2020 MIRO Analytical received the prestigious and highly competitive EIC Accelerator Pilot grant (Grant Agreement No.: 945842).
MIRO Analytical AG was among the 75 selected companies out of 1853 SMEs who applied for funding and received in total 278 million euros.
Data on air pollution and greenhouse gases are important to protect the population from harmful air pollution and to monitor and guide the way to carbon neutrality. Today, however, precise ambient air monitoring requires different instruments for each individual pollutant or greenhouse gas to be measured, resulting in bulky and expensive instruments installed in fixed monitoring stations and operated by specialized staff.
The EU-funded EnviroLAS project proposes a compact instrument for advanced pollution monitoring based on direct laser spectroscopy that allows measurement of six pollutants and four greenhouse gases permanently, simultaneously and accurately. The instrument will be easily transportable due to its reduced dimensions and weight and will have 75% reduced operational costs and 40% lower start-up costs, and reduced dimensions (60x50x15cm) and weight (25kg) compared to existing devices. It will address the urgent demand to monitor main air pollutants and greenhouse gases in-situ in a more cost-effective and dynamic way.
